Bill Hobin

Bill Hobin is the CEO and founder of The William Warren Group, a Santa Monica-based entrepreneurial real estate company that owns and operates a thriving network of modern self storage properties across the United States. Since its inception in 1994, Mr. Hobin is responsible for overseeing the company vision, dynamic brand strategy and innovation-driven operational platform. He works closely with the executive acquisition and development teams to expand the organisational footprint, while facilitating the management of strategic partnerships.  He takes a very different approach to self storage with proven results.  An informative and entertaining speaker that should not be missed. 

Mr. Hobin has an active hand in the various state and national self storage trade associations, acting as past Board Director of the National Self Storage Association (SSA), President and Board Director of the California Self Storage Association (CSSA), and maintains current membership across numerous State Associations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and brings the So Cal culture inside the office or out in the surf.  He is the proud husband to London, father of 6 children and master of two golden retrievers.

Mark Price

Dubbed ‘one of the nation’s favourite businessmen’ by the Independent, Mark began his career at The John Lewis Partnership as a Graduate Trainee and remained with the company for 33 years. Mark was Managing Director of Waitrose for the preceding 9 years, and Deputy Chairman of The John Lewis Partnership for 3 years. From 2010 - 2016, he was the founding Chairman of The Prince's Countryside Fund for HRH The Prince of Wales. In 2011 Mark was appointed as Chairman of Business in the Community, a position he held for 4 years.

Mark Price joined the UK government as the Minister of State for Trade and Investment at the invitation of David Cameron in April 2016.

He was made a life peer in February 2016 to become The Lord Price CVO and Baron Price of Sturminster Newton. Mark was reappointed by Theresa May to her post-Brexit Government, with specific responsibility for negotiating the UK's future trade deals.

Mark joined the Channel 4 TV board in 2010 as a Non-Executive Director. In 2013 he was appointed Deputy Chairman. He stepped down from the role in April 2016 when he joined the UK Government.

Graeme Leach

Professor Graeme Leach is former Chief Economist of the Institute of Directors and currently CEO & Chief Economist of Macronomics, a macroeconomic, geopolitical and future megatrends research consultancy launched in 2016. Graeme is a visiting professor of economic policy, a member of the IEA Shadow Monetary Policy Committee and has a weekly column in the City AM newspaper. Over the past decade he has undertaken over 100 live television and radio interviews for BBC News, Sky News, the Radio 4 Today Programme and Radio 4 World at One.

Earlier in his career he was Chief UK Economist and Chief International Economist, at The Henley Centre for Forecasting. He was also Economic Adviser to the Scottish Provident Investment Group. Graeme is an acknowledged expert on the economics and politics of Brexit, having written and spoken widely on this topic. One of the UK’s leading experts on the economics and geopolitics of the UK and the EU, and where we go from here. Written and spoken widely on the topic, challenging both sides of the debate. More generally, Graeme has given over 1,000 speeches, in 25 countries, to business audiences over the last decade.

Tim Dietz

Tim Dietz is the President & Chief Executive Officer for the national Self Storage Association. Tim manages all operations of the organisation, including strategic planning, budgeting, personnel and board relations. He implements the vision of the SSA Board of Directors and national strategy for the 5,500+ member real estate trade association that represents the approximate 50,000 self storage facilities nationwide.

The SSA supports the collective needs of members ranging from one-facility operators to the largest public companies within the industry. Prior to overseeing the association, Tim spent 11 years as the organisation's Chief Operating Officer and Sr. VP of Government Relations. Tim has overseen the passage of more than 60 pieces of industry legislation to help improve the regulations that govern the lien process, insurance programs and other laws that influence the self storage sector. He has also helped the industry avoid sales taxes and other threats.

A resident of Stafford in Virginia, Tim previously lobbied in the environmental remediation and telecommunications sectors.

Nathalie Nahai

Nathalie Nahai is one of the foremost experts in web psychology. Delivering real, rather than theoretical information about why and how we use the web in the way we do, Nathalie has applied scientific rigour to design, marketing, content and products. 

Her research is convincing and accessible and her insights resonate with audiences at every level. Calling herself a Web Psychologist, Nathalie has determined that there is a need and a place for someone to understand and explain to the consuming public why they work the way they do, and why the internet impacts so directly on decisions made at every juncture.

Nathalie also wrote a best-selling book - Webs of Influence: The Psychology of Online Persuasion, positioning herself as an innovation specialist who understands the trends and attitudes that impact the way we use the web.

With a background in psychology, web design and digital strategy, Nathalie coined the term 'web psychology' in 2011, defining it as 'the empirical study of how our online environments influence our attitudes and behaviours'.

Nathalie is the founder of the Institute of Web Psychology, which helps businesses apply research to their design and decision-making processes, to achieve better engagement online. Nathalie is also a resident blogger at Psychology Today, and is presenter of the Tech Weekly Guardian podcast.

Göran Skugge

Göran Skugge is Senior Partner at PriceGain in Sweden. During his 20 years as a consultant, Göran has led pricing projects in a variety of industries including airline, media, passenger rail, manufacturing, and retail. His experience covers all aspects of pricing, from change management to implementing revenue management systems and designing innovative pricing strategies. Göran’s specialty is Price Optimization. He completed a highly praised session on self storage pricing at this year’s Swedish Association Conference.

Before joining PriceGain, Göran worked as Director of Solutions at Talus Solutions in Mountain View, California and London, England. I this role, Göran’s responsibilities included implementation of Revenue Management Systems for several international airlines. After Talus Solutions, Göran served as Vice President at Veritec Solutions where he was responsible for European projects. His customer focus and strong commitment ensured significant profit improvements for the European clients.

Göran attained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He then attended Stanford University for a second Master of Science, this time in Engineering Economic Systems. His Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is also from Stockholm’s Royal Institute of Technology.

Mark Turner
