Cyber Security Webinar - Tuesday, 7 July

Understanding and reducing the cyber risks of COVID-19
Complimentary Members’ Webinar

Tuesday, 7 July 2020 – 12 noon

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a widespread impact on organisations, changing the way they operate and introducing new cyber risks. Attackers are seeking to exploit the current uncertainty and IT changes that companies have implemented to enable the rapid shift to remote working.

According to PwC UK, criminal threat actors have been exploiting the pandemic by sending employees phishing emails and targeting those unfamiliar with remote working practices. In recent weeks there has also been a rise in the number of public high-profile cyber security incidents, the majority being ransomware attacks resulting in sensitive data being leaked on the internet.

Led by Gabriel Currie and Will Oram from PwC’s UK cyber security team, this webinar will provide an overview of the cyber risks emerging as a result of COVID-19. They will provide practical steps self-storage businesses should take to ensure cyber security practices have not fallen by the wayside, as they have quickly adapted to the new COVID-19 working environment.

As well as providing an overview of the cyber threats, this webinar will focus on three topics:

  • How to ensure cyber security functions continue operating effectively
  • How to counter opportunistic threat actors seeking to take advantage of the situation
  • How to secure newly implemented remote working practices
