  • Annual survey results 
    • This is the sixth consecutive annual survey completed by the Federation of European Self Storage Associations (FEDESSA) on the European Self Storage Industry. It
      is the largest and most comprehensive study into the industry completed by operators in 16 countries who operate around 750 facilities contributing to the results. This represents just under a quarter of the total market.

  • Italian conference 
    • The first Italian Self Storage Association convention was held in September and was
      a great success. The main focus during the conference was on education, exchanging best practices and networking.
  • 2017 European facility of the year, NESTA Ireland 
    • NESTA at Santry has a prime location on a national road leading from the city centre to
      the north side suburbs and adjacent to the M50 motorway (Dublin City ring road) which
      sees more than 120,000 motorists per day. It is also on the junction between the M50 and
      the M1 (linking Dublin to Belfast) and beside Dublin airport, giving it excellent visibility for signage and advertising.
  • Interview with Christian Lohmann 
    • ​​​​​​​The FEDESSA conference in Berlin showed that the industry in Germany is going through a growth period, with more new entrants as well as existing operators adding new stores and expanding. We interviewed the chairman of the German Association, Mr Christian Lohmann, and asked him about the current state of the market and future possibilities for self storage in Germany.
